Big Zulu is a car spinning obsessive, and he loves his BMWs. He recently showcased his spinning skills until his tyres wore out. Born Siyabonga Nene, the musician came from a humble beginning, rising to become one of South Africa’s top hip hop artists. The artist was promoting his show in Newcastle on Saturday when he shared videos of himself spinning a grey BMW until the tyres wore out.
Before pursuing a music career, the KZN based rapper was a taxi driver for many years. In one of his videos, he admitted that he did not pass his school and had to settle for whatever came his way. He made a breakthrough in acting when he appeared in soapie Isibaya. He also appeared on Mzansi’s most-watched drama Uzalo.
While he is not educated, Big Zulu keeps supporting school children by donating books, printers and laptops to help them bond a less complicated path than he walked. He recently donated to Obonjaneni Primary School, a school in Bergville where he did his primary education.
Having made enough money through acting and music, the ex-taxi driver is now pursuing his hobbies. He is obsessed with the love for spinning and fast cars and the huge rapper bought a 80s maroon BMW gusheshe. Soon after buying the car, he challenged producer DJ Maphorisa to a spinning battle.
The car is not the first in his collection as he owns a fleet of BMW E30s. The rapper has a collection of sought after vintage cars that he often shares on social media. Big Zulu showed off his spinning tricks in another recent video he shared online until his tyres wore out.
