FANS of Mzansi Magic’s Soap, Gomora were reeling in shock after the young Gomora star dies and they were not ready for it.
Gomora, which is a soap of Mzansi Magic about Alexandra township in Johannesburg, started last year, although it was interrupted due to lockdown as they had not shot enough scenes the time level 5 lockdown occurred, it actually bounced back and became one of the most-watched TV shows in South Africa. It airs on weekdays at 19:30 and features some of the best actors and actresses including Zolani Xaluva, Thembi Seete, Katlego Danke, Connie Chiume, and another new talent.
Langa, who had just discovered months ago that his father is Principal Dlamini of Gomora High school, had not enjoyed their relationship with his father as his half brother, Ntokozo was arrested for murder. Now, he has lost his life, much to the sadness of Gomora’s fans.
People had so much hope that Langa will pull through and come out of the hospital alive but unfortunately, he lost the battle as he died on the episode on Tuesday, the 23rd June.
He was admitted to the hospital after he inhaled smoke from the fire started by Gladys, who is the wife of Principal Dlamini. Gladys, which is a character played by Thembi Seete, did not from the beginning approved of Langa joining her family as he is a child born out of wedlock by her husband.
Gladys decided to set Mam Sonto’s (character played by Connie Chiume) tavern alight not knowing that Langa is inside. Both Gladys and Langa were hospitalized, fortunately, Gladys survived and Langa had 50 % chance of survival.
Langa, who has been with the soap since its inception, joined it as That’s ( character played by Katlego Danke)son. Both Langa and his sister, Buhle (the character played by Ama Qamata) were Model C kids who moved to Alexander township, Gomora after their rich Dad, Mbongeni, played by Themba Ndaba, died.
He recently found out that Mbongeni was not his real father and that Principal Melusi Dlamini is actually his real father.
When he died on Tuesday, people took to social media to express how talented the young actor is and appreciate his brilliant portrayal of his character, Langa.
