Actors are perhaps some of the country’s most recognizable faces. They cover magazines, hit shows, movies and important campaigns. A significant debate about the fair compensation of local actors has recently taken place. Many of our local talents miss out on many of their careers’ financial benefits in other countries. But it isn’t dull for all.

Some of our actors were able to control their successful professions. So… who are the country’s richest actors? We’re going to show you. We presented a list of some of the actors from Mzansi who make it big in the profession.

  1. Sello Maake KaNcube

I’m sure you’re all aware of Sello Maake Ka-Ncube, unless I know what to tell you then. It’s an icon for this man! You can’t think of SA performers from generations to scandals without his name coming up. It was nothing but fantastic work in all the shows and films on which Sello appeared. One of the parts he has played is Kogsi’s gay role in The Queen, a role he played rather efficiently.

In South Africa, and in the United States and Europe, Sello has played several parts in theatre, film and television. He is also an experienced director, producer and voice over artist. After decades of play, he is reputed to be South Africa’s richest actor.

  1. Bartlett Jamie

Jamie Bartlett’s a favorite fan! Jamie is also part of SA’s best crop with decades of international cinema credit. Thirteen years ago, soapy fans were introduced to the groundbreaking, Rhythm City on eTV. The show was a hit from the start – only the best actors graced our screens. These actors have impressively brought life into their personas – some of which remain famous.

One such character is David Genaro’s aggressive – depicted by intelligent actor Jamie Bartlett. Fans, audiences and cast members had to bid farewell to Jamie earlier this year when he announced his resignation to Rhythm City. He moves on to other initiatives he has developed

For his portrayal of David Genaro in 2009, 2015 and 2019, the exceptional actor earned 3 SAFTAs. With his recent show, hailed as epic by fans, they could not stop praising him for a outstanding performance. Some people even suggested that he deserved an Ocsar.

Jamie is certainly going to be missed on our TVs.

Connie Ferguson is a 50-year-old actress who was born on 10 June 1970 to Fish Masilo and Margaret Masilo. She was born in Kimberley, Northern Cape, and reared in south-eastern Botswana in the city of Lobatse. Besides Connie’s acting career, she has been honored as a producer, model, investor and entrepreneur.

In 2003, Connie played a series part in Love By Many Ways which paid her an incredible R2.1 million. She performed Karabo Moroka’s leading role for generations for 16 years and departed the show in 2010 and returned four years later to help relaunch Generations: the legacy.

Connie took a noticeable role in the M-Net show The Wild, which shot at an African game farm, with Shona Ferguson’s husband. The show was nevertheless canceled in April 2013. In one of her own projects, The Queen, Connie now stars.

She has numerous revenue streams, and Ferguson Films, the production business, is putting in checks. Connie has even her own empire of beauty items, Koni Multinational Brands.

  1. Motshegwa Moshidi

Moshidi is probably one of our most representative live actresses with 20 years of profession! Virtually every notable soapie, movie and telenovela in the country was awarded the SAFTA award.

Moshidi has also been included in so many movies and films and has worldwide recognized her talents. In 2008 she reportedly voiced Miriam’s character in an animated television series, Speedy, based on the cartoonist Tim Mostert comic strip that publishes on The Daily Sun in South Africa.

Her outstanding performance on Rhythm City will never be forgotten by viewers and fans. While viewers must bid farewell to her from The River last year, her flawless talent showed that she is a woman with no nonsense and that what she said is right. She is one of Mzansi’s top paid actors today.

  1. Thusi Pearl

Mama Panther’s unexpected to many, but remember that Pearl isn’t simply acting. Pearl is known for her other profitable vocations, such as modeling, tv and radio shows, and is also featured in many rapper’s music videos. All Pearl’s caps have proven highly lucrative for the star.

Your most recent project ‘Queen Sono’ has been uploaded by viewers. Pearl is the hero in the action-packed series, Queen Sono, “a spy working for an undercover South African outfit dedicated to protecting the African people.”

We haven’t forgotten that Vuyo Dabula’s stifling sex scene on #QueenSono and fans are excited that Season 2 is at work. In 2015, Pearl Thusi debuted Black Pearl, her hair care brand. Pearl is known for her Afro brand name and starting a line of her own hair products made sense to her. She partnered to produce the range with Afro-botanics. The hair products of Pearl Thusi still fly off the shelves in 2020.

Pearl has various sources of revenue amongst her business operations, endorsements and films.

6. Dlathu Sindi

South African-born actress and musician Sindi Dlathu is best known as ‘Thandaza’ by the South African serial drama ‘Muvhango,’ Ranthumeng Mokoena’s wife. She joined a talent competition, A Shell Road Fame, when she was 12, she didn’t win, but she reached the finals. Mahotella Queens, a member of the famous South African Mbhaqanga band, assisted her.

Dlathu was chosen as the principal role study in Sarafina stage !’s version, playing in crowded houses. In the screen adaptation she collaborated with Whoopi Goldberg and was commissioned as Michael Peters’ associate choreographer.

When we saw the first season of The River, we were attracted to the show immediately. Sindi caught up with us as Lindiwe as she was trying to bury Tumi (who was her biological daughter at the show, but at that moment she didn’t know) alive.

Her outstanding performances at Oscar also transformed her into one of Mzansi’s highest earning actors. Sindi has also been quite fond of being disliked by those who now do not have any comparison on TV.
