She is that favorite actress we hate to love. Phindile Gwala is a South African actress best known for her on-screen character Nonny on Muvhango. Currently, she is nailing it as Fikile on Imbewu. She has been on our screen for a while, and it seems as if she is picking up from where she left. She played the Nonny role for five years after debuting in 2012.
However, she revealed that she would be leaving her role on the Venda drama series to focus on growing her brand. She wanted to focus on her career path of business management. The fizzy actress was born in December 1986 in Eshowe, KwaZulu Natal.
She marked her return on the small screens with a gig on Looking for Love in 2018. Her unmatched talent and flair saw her securing a gig on Blessers the following year. A year later she joined the cast of Imbewu-The Seed (2020). In the mix of things, Mzansi has been wondering how much does Pindile Gwala earns on Imbewu given her unmatched talent.
Currently, she is killing it as she happens to be the face of the drama series. The storyline sees her struggling to come to terms with her past; her birthday brings back the abusive childhood she grew up in. She is trying to keep it under wraps so that it won’t affect her social life, but she is failing to keep up with the skeletons in her closet and the past haunting her.
Despite the drama series being a low budget soapie, the showrunners pay well. On Imbewu, she stars alongside some of Mzansi’s fines, the likes of Leleti Khumalo, who also doubles as co-producer of the show.
For her Fikile role, it has been established that she is paid a whopping R50 000 per month. However, it has been revealed that her salary is not fixed as it is determined by differences such as time on scenes and the importance of the role to the storyline.
